Live Guide

The tour is live-guided by one of our amazing passionate guides for an engaging experience.

Join us on an engaging tour where we explore the authentic places of the warship Vasa’s journey. Our route takes us from the old shipyard, though the castle "Tre Kronor", and finishes at the actual site of the well-known catastrophe of the warship.

Our cafeteria/Bar offers a a small but carefully selected range of wraps, sandwiches, snacks and of course "Swedish Fika" - local pastries and coffee. Drinks goes from mineral water, juice and smoothies to wine, beer and Champagne.

Ecosightseeing takes the threat from the covid-19 virus very seriously and we do our utmost to prevent it from spreading further. We take fewer guests on board than usual. We wipe and disinfect exposed surfaces after each turn. We stay at home when we have the slightest symptoms of illness.

As a guest on board with us, we take it for granted that you also follow the Public Health Agency's recommendations and:

Only go with us if you are completely healthy.
Be careful with hand hygiene
Keep your distance when talking to the crew or other guests.
Coughing and sneezing in the armpit.

We follow the authorities' recommendations continuously and adapt our routines accordingly. Together we show respect and care for each other.

A warm welcome on board!

You can choose to start the tour either from The Vasa Jetty (just behind the Vasa Museum) OR from Nybroviken in central Stockholm. We highly recommend that you combine the tour with a visit at the museum before - or after.

The full guided tour starts from Nybroviken, if you embark at the Vasa jetty you will have a warm welcome and a short introduction as we head into Nybroviken in the city centre where we pick up more guests. When everyone is seated and had their time to order refreshments from the bar the tour starts.

As we turn around and head out from Nybroviken we have the spot where the old shipyard was situated back in the early 1600 on our starboard side. This is where the Vasa was built. After launching in the early spring of 1627 she was moved to the Royal Castle “Tre Kronor” - we follow the exact route and on our way enjoy beautiful sceneries of today's Stockholm as the guide points out sights of interests and in the same time tells the story about the past. We continue into the very heart of Stockholm - The Royal Castle of today is built over the ruins of the old Castle “Tre Kronor”. This is where Vasa started her journey the 10:th of August 1628. As we follow in the keelwater of Vasa we will have a very nice view of the Old Town with all its beautiful old houses facing towards the sea. Slussen is today Stockholms most spectacular traffic situation. Today there is a brand new golden bridge that connects the island of Old Town with the island of Södermalm, under the bridge there is a lock securing the big freshwater lake Mälaren from the brackish water of Saltsjön connected with the Baltic sea. It's here just outside Slussen that captain Söfring Hansson gave the order to set sail. We continue to follow in the wake of Vasa and now it can start to get a little shaky...

Hold on and keep an eye out for seals. It is not uncommon for us to see a great gray seal just here! We will end the tour at the very spot where the catastrophe took place almost 400 years ago, the place were the Vasa hit the bottom and where she rested for 333 years all while the city of Stockholm grow bigger and bigger, thousands of pride vessels came and went over her head, little did she know that she one day was going to be a world unique tourist attraction and shine with pride in a museum visited by millions of people!

We love this story and we love to share it with you!

Due to the Covid 19 situation changes can be made in a short time.
